minus-forever asked: Thought I'd help you out, I love riot grrrl music so here are a few bands you may or may not have heard of, they're not all riot grrrl, but they're still pretty awesome. Civet, Sick Of Sarah, The Distillers, Spinnerette, Babes In Toyland, Tattle Tale, Kidney Thieves, Tsunami Bomb. Those are a few of my favourites. Hope this helped! I would have put youtube links with them but apparently you can't include links whilst asking a question. Ahh well. I love your blog by the way!

Riot grrrl music help!
I am kicking off a brand new semester (and my last!!) of my riot grrrl show called Riot’s Not Quiet. I need to refresh my current music I play. I especially want to be more inclusive. I’ve got the white lesbians pretty covered and all the classic riot grrrl bands. I especially need more current ones and more POC representation and trans*/queer music that could fall as a sub-category of riot grrrl. I play a little queer core on the show but I know there’s more out there!
They can even be your friend’s band’s live recording from a shitty bar. I play it all! Just post in my ask or however you want to do this. Links to downloads or music blogs would be great too if you have them, but I could always search for it myself.
